Are you ready to vote?

September 13, 2020 2 min read

I am.

Actually, I've been ready to vote since 2019 when I had the idea for our new Vote for Me design. Right before the November 2019 elections, the design was intended as a lighthearted meaning that instead of voting for that guy or girl, vote for me, the cutest little kid to ever exist. But then it became more than that  -  that of all the choices, this vote is for our kids and the country we set up - for them!

Voting in 2020 means real change in our country, a shift in the direction we're currently headed. Registering to vote today and showing up on November 3 is real action for our kids. We're telling them that we are voting for them, representing our view through a democratic process that decides our schools, roads and healthcare. That every vote does in fact count.

And the power of vote on a shirt (or hey, mama sweatshirt) can have a huge impact. Consider Michelle Obama's vote necklace during this year's virtual Democratic National Convention. Her simple 4 letter necklace from ByChari, a small Los Angeles-based jewelry company, quickly went viral. The former first lady does have star power, but that one word shouts action, takes a stand and finds voices.

And if we want to keep the possibility of progress alive in our time, if we want to be able to look our children in the eye after this election, we have got to reassert our place in American history.- Michelle Obama

So starting with a shirt that was a fun and cheeky statement means more a couple months before the election. We vote for our kids, we decide their future and we leave a legacy beyond election season.

Take the first step and make sure you register to vote today.
